Jamaican patwa lessons
The Jamaican language is a derivative of the Spanish, English, and African influences on the country through its colonial history. Although the official language of Jamaica is English, many Jamaicans speak patwa in everyday conversation.
Between us, I think we’ve all (or almost all) swayed to dancehall music from Jamaica. Many times trying to sing the lyrics, but the result was closer to gibberish than anything else.
Those days are finally over 😄!
Whether you want to rock a karaoke or prepare for a trip to Jamaica, you can now take Jamaican patwa classes with a real native!
These lessons, organized by House of Rockaaz, are held via Zoom in sessions of 10 classes, taking place every Saturday from 2:00 to 3:30 pm (Paris time). To find out when the next sessions will be held, check this calendar:
